Exponents
Here is a lesson plan that I created based off of the note sheet that I used below. I created my ideal plan and worked through and made some teacher notes on the worksheet. We did a lot with exponents, so I also have listed a couple of documents that led up to the current days lesson which was on zero and negative exponents. The things leading up to this lesson were the Power of Math Task, intro to the quotient rule and a formative used to assess the knowledge up to the current lesson.

Reflection
This lesson went well overall. We accomplished all of the things that I wanted to accomplish. All of the examples went well and we worked in groups to finish the example problems. I had the students put their work up on the board, which was very exciting for them, they loved it. I also had them explain their thinking behind it. One thing that I wish I would have done differently is to better explain the why to negative exponents and why they work the way that they do. I felt that my explanation was not thorough and left a lot of confusion among the students. I was able to go around to each group and make clarifications during group work, but I wish I would have been able to think on my feet and immediately correct the confused looks while I was still at the front of the classroom. But maybe sometimes it is better to step away from the problem and come back, but this is definitely something I have been working on. Thinking on my feet!
