Direct Variation
Below is a lesson that I adapted from my cooperating teacher on Direct Variation. This was the very first lesson I ever taught to actual students. Posted are the materials and notes used as well as a small reflection.

Reflection
Direct variation was a little hard for my students to grasp. My students did well with what was on the front page. But once we got to the back I think they were a little lost on the idea of telling whether the function was direct and using a point to create an equation and graph for the relation. I think if I were to do this again, I would definitely think about and write out more questions when planning my lesson. As you can see, the lesson is a little bare. I would also change up some of the wording. There are a lot of long paragraphs and definitions on the page. Also, when I got to the backside of the page it felt a little repetitive and I think they only needed the definitions once. If I were to cut that second wordy piece, I would then have more time for my students to work through problems and examples and possibly even have time for more group learning in this lesson.
